What Tires Should I Choose for Supermoto Conversion?

Here is a breakdown of the tire options we offer and the most common uses for them. 

Dunlop Sportmax GPR300:

  • Radial tire technology helps to provide enhanced grip in wet and dry conditions.

Overview: Great price-point tire for all-around street riding on any Make or Model.

Shinko 705 Series Dual-Sport:

The Shinko 705 has a versatile tread pattern that provides excellent wet and dry weather adhesion and smooth running on the highway.

  • All-round rubber compound for a wide spectrum of weather and street/terrain conditions
  • Designed as a 70% On-Road 30% Off-Road tire
  • Great traction, even Off-Road, thanks to the dirt-oriented tread design
  • DOT approved
  • 150/70R18 rear tires features state-of-the-art Zero Degree JLSB (Joint-Less Steel Belting) technology for added stability and strength
  • M+S = Mud and Snow Rated

Overview: Dual-Sport 70/30 (on/off-road) tire for those looking for a tire that will handle some off-road use. (Note: Not available in a 110/70 front so unable to be used on CRF250L/300L or WR250R/X).

Pirelli Diablo Rosso III:

Overview: High-performance bi-compound tire for a wide range of street riding styles. Available in many sizes and will fit all Makes and Models.

Michelin Pilot Power 2CT: 

  • Michelin 2CT technology creates tread surface divided into three separate areas featuring two different rubber compounds
  • Combines a durable center with softer shoulder rubber to provide phenomenal cornering grip
  • A durable center and softer at the edges to allow you to achieve impressive lean angles usually seen on the track
  • (W)-rated for speeds of 168+ mph
  • Lean angles up to 51.2°
  • Sport radial tire

Overview: The most popular option for Supermoto Conversions. The 2CT dual compound has the soft, stickiness you want for leaning into corners and a more durable center compound to reduce wear. 

Dunlop Sportmax Q5S:

  • The front tire profile and construction were changed to allow for a 7mm shorter tire. This shorter profile created a lighter steering feel and quicker turn-in rate to allow for a nimble handling tire.
  • Intuitive Response Profile™ (IRP) technology allows for a taller tire profile along with sides that taper in more aggressively for remarkable turn-in response and feel. 
  • MT Multi-Tread™ technology in the Q5S rear tire uses a silica-infused, long-wearing compound in the center of the tread for longer tread life, and special lateral grip compounds on the left and right shoulders for outstanding grip. 
  • Improved compound to enhance both the dry and wet grip by adjusting the polymer, changing to a softer shoulder compound, increased the amount of carbon black content by utilizing Carbon R technology and increased oil content. 
  • Optimized tread pattern design to aid in quicker warm-up times and improved wear characteristics. 
  • The Sportmax Q5S is DOT-approved for street-legal use.

Overview: Street-friendly, track-ready tire that can perform in any condition. This high-performance option from Dunlop fits all Makes and Models and comes in all sizes. 

Continental Conti-Attack SM EVO: 

The Conti Attack Super Moto EVO Tires are an advanced high-performance street legal Supermoto tire with an updated rubber compound for improved grip and extended mileage. The Traction Skin provides an extremely safe and short tire break-in for the Conti-Attack. This is possible due to the revolutionary raw tread surface, which is the result of a new mold coating technology which eliminates the need for tire-release agents.

The Avon Trail Rider Tires are rugged and reliable on/off road tires for your bike.

Overview: Our other on/off-road option. The Avon is more street than off-road than the Shinko at a 90/10 ratio. It is a good option for those needing just enough off-road grip to maybe get up a dirt drive-way or path, yet still have excellent street handling. (Note: Not available in a 110/70 front so unable to be used on CRF250L/300L or WR250R/X).
