Tools needed
- 12mm socket
- 13mm socket
- 5mm Allen
- 2mm Allen
- Blue thread lock
- Using the OEM release latch remove the OEM seat bottom.
- Using a 12mm socket remove the 2 front and 2 rear bolts holding the seatTo access the front bolts slide the seat all the way back. Once you remove those slide the seat all the way forward to access the 2 rear 12mm bolts.*Note* when removing the seat one of the slider rails is not retained and can slide out. Don’t worry, they slide back in.
- Open the bag of parts.
- Locate the catch retainers. Inset one spring in the hole in the end of the catch. Paying special attention to the catch, insert into the back of the main rail so the theater faces up. Slide one small stainless dowel in the catch; this serves as a stop and the pull rod will attach to these later. Repeat this on all bases.
- Install the bases in the KRX, paying attention to put the pivot to the front and the catch at the back.
The hardware kit includes 2 different lengths of tapered Allen head bolts. Replace the OEM bolts with the same length bolts in the kit noting that passenger and drivers seats take different lengths than each other. We include extras so do not worry when you have extra tapered screws. This is intentional depending on what side of the KRX you are installing the kit on.
When installing the mounting bolts apply blue thread lock to the screws and install with 5mm Allen wrench. These only need to be snug, applying to much torque will strip the Allen heads.
- With the plates installed, use the connecting tube and slide the open end onto the catch pin. Then slide the pin of the inboard plate onto the pin, install the 1 long front bolt and 1 short bolt in the rear. Thread lock the bolts and snug down.
The pins can be pushed or pulled out to get the most amount of the pin into the connecting bar. Leave about 1/8 or slightly more pin pushed out to function as a stop as shown in picture.
Apply blue thread lock to the small set screws and using a 2mm Allen tighten the 2 sets of screws at each end of the connecting rod, these set screw tighten against the catch pins.
Note* There are holes on both sides of the rod. Only the rear holes are threaded.
- Next you will need to remove the Allen head screw at the front of the seat area. Using the included steel cable loop slide the seat cable into the loop and reuse the OEM screw to tighten back down like the picture below.
*Note* There should be no drag on the cable.
- You’re now done with the base brackets and time to move to the seats.
It’s best to lay the seats sideways on the ground so the OEM seat sliders do not fall out.
Install the front hinge pivots in the slide rails. Apply thread lock to the threads and install the gold nut from the top of the slide; leave these somewhat loose. We will tighten them after the seat is installed into the base brackets so the hinges align.
- Moving to the back of the seat install the catch pucks, you can see the pucks are doubled ended so as the puck wears it can be rotated for a fresh edge.
The puck is machined with an oval to fit into the oval of the seat slider. Make sure the oval is pressed into the oval of the seat slider and install the short gold bolts from the top. Apply blue thread lock to the gold bolts and install into the puck.
- Now that the seats are done it’s time to install them into the brackets.Drop the seat down onto the brackets while trying to align the front hinges.
With the hinges aligned, insert the 2 included pull pins. Once the pins are installed snap the rear of the set into the pucks.
*Note* You may have to pull the cable to get the rear to drop and latch.
- Now tighten the front hinge nuts.
Now pull the cable and try to release the rear. This way we can make sure everything works before installing the seat base.
Additional Notes
- Do not lube the latch or puck with a wet lubricant, this will attract dirt. However you can use a dry graphite lube.
- Due to the slides being able to move sideways the pucks may not drop straight in and catch every time you lower the seat, so you may need to pull the cable to latch the seat and sometimes a side to side wiggle of the seat may be needed to get them to catch.
- To completely remove the seat, pull the 2 front pins, then pull the cable to release the seat and simply lift the seat out.
