Tools Needed: Bike stand, Spring puller, 4mm & 6mm Allen wrench’s, 13mm box wrench, 12mm open end wrench, 12mm Socket and Torque wrench.
1: Start by placing the bike on a bike stand so the rear wheel is off the ground.
2: remove your foot pegs, pivot pin, clips and springs and set aside for install later.
3: remove the kickstand spring with a spring puller, its easiest to remove with the kickstand up and pulling the spring back towards the rear wheel.
4: remove the kickstand bolt, hold the kickstand pivot bolt with a 6mm Allen Wrench while turning the kickstand backing nut off with a 13mm wrench or socket. Its best to remove the nut on the backside first then remove the pivot bolt. There is a thin shim washer inside the kickstand knuckle, watch for it so you don’t loose it as you may need it when reinstalling the kickstand
5: remove the qty 2 6mm Allen head bolts that bold the OEM footpeg bracket to the frame, be careful once loose as there is a kickstand sensor that we don’t want to damage the wires on.
6: next take a measurement of the kickstand sensor exposed length in the OEM bracket. This measurement will be helpful when reinstalling the sensor in the new Warp 9 bracket. using a 12mm box end wrench loosen the 2 kickstand sensor nuts, once loose you can twist the OEM footpeg bracket to help unthread the kickstand sensor. Take your time here it’s a little frustrating but you don’t want to damage the wires. We include 2 new nuts because the OEM ones are soft and sometimes get damaged. If they do not get damage reuse you OEM ones. If they round off when loosening use the 2 new include nuts.
7: grab the Warp 9 left hand side footpeg bracket with kickstand attachment, thread the kickstand sensor back into the new bracket getting it close to the same threaded depth as the OEM measurement was. Do not tighten the 12mm sensor nuts yet we will mess with those later
8: using the 2 OEM 6mm Allen bolts apply the included blue thread lock to the bolts and install into the frame. Torque these 2 bolts to 25ftlbs.
9: now go to the right side of the bike. This side is much easier. Remove the 2 OEM 6mm Allen bolts.
10: grab the included peg brace rod, remove the 2 tapered Allen bolts from the rod using a 4MM Allen wrench.
11: insert the rod into the rear hole of the Warp 9 Kickstand side closest to the rear wheel. You can install one tapered head bolt into the brace rod on the kickstand side but do not tighten it yet.
12: with the left side Warp 9 bracket insert the rod into the rear hole of the bracket aligning it to the frame mounting holes. Apply blue thread lock to these blots. Align your rear brace so the warp 9 logo face out towards the rear wheel and slightly up so its visible. Now tighten the 2 6mm Allen bolts to the frame and torque these to 25ftlbs
13: now that we have the main bracket installed go ahead and install the tapered head bolts into the brace rod. Apply blue thread lock to the threads and install them using a 4mm Allen wrench These only need to be hand snug and do not need much torque
14: install your OEM, Warp 9 or Surron Specific aftermarket foot pegs using the OEM spring, pivot pins and clips.
15: the 12mm bolts that hold the steel peg bracket to the aluminum bracket are only in by hand and not tight to ride with, the brackets are in the 0 position which is the OEM height. Loosen the 12mm bolt enough to allow the bracket teeth to clear the aluminum bracket and adjust up or down to your desired height. Once you have the height where you want them back the bolt completely out and apply blue thread lock to the last 10mm of threads that go into the bracket. Install the bolt and torque the bracket bolts to 25ftlbs
16: with the bike still on the we need to test your kickstand sensor. This is easiest with another person holding the bike so it doesn’t fall. Turn the key on, put the kickstand down and GENTLY turn the throttle. If the wheel spins with the kickstand down you need to turn the sensor towards the kickstand until the wheel will not spin under power with the kickstand down. Once you have it setup and working correctly you can tighten the 2 sensor nuts against the bracket.
Your done! Double check your work making sure all bolts are tightened.
